The Belvedere Academy is a girls’ secondary school and Sixth Form in Liverpool for students aged 11-18. We have a strong academic record and offer a broad curriculum within a supportive community. Brilliant YA author Sophie Jo visited Belvedere as part of her book tour promoting her latest romantic comedy, Heartbreak Era. Year 8 and Year 9 students heard all about her writing life and inspirations and took part in lively discussions about potentially toxic behaviours and what we can do about them. It was a hot day but that didn’t stop us all having a great morning. Sophie complemented our ‘wise’ students and happily chatted and signed books after her assembly.

Towards the end of the Summer Term, we were absolutely delighted to welcome the brilliant Joanne McNamara (@joannemcnamara) from @classicsforall to deliver a fascinating guest lecture to our Year 8–10 Rising Stars!
From the complex modern ethics of museum collections to the awe-inspiring design of ancient architecture, our students took a deep dive into the incredible worlds of Ancient Greece and Rome. 📜✨
