For our students
For our students, there are also so many unique and bespoke opportunities to enable them to become empowered and successful young women both during and after their education.
GDST LEAD is our bespoke programme for Year 12 which equips students with the skills they need to become leaders and entrepreneurs. GDST LEAD is an innovative partnership between the GDST and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Students work with mentors from LSE come up with a business idea that has a positive social impact, addressing problems connected to sustainability, female empowerment or inequality. They then work on developing it and on the day, pitch it ‘Dragons Den’ style.
Beyond the classroom
GDST Sports Rallies and Experts Days, including in Dance and Music, where Sixth Form students can be coached by and can compete against the best sports women and female creatives in the UK.
Access to 100,000 alumnae across the world, providing access to events, speaker programmes, networking opportunities, career guidance, and advice. Our alumnae excel in a wide range of fields including medicine, science and technology, arts and entertainment, business and finance, sports and wellbeing, education, sustainability, and advocacy.
Opportunities that open doors
Bespoke guidance through Careers Start Online, including GDST Oxbridge support, mock interviews, skills workshops, and expert talks.
Scholarships and Prizes are available for a range of activities including travel and to fund university life.
Countless national leadership opportunities such as sitting on GDST School Council, participating as a leader in the GDST Undivided programme and GDST Empowered. Opportunities to connect with Sixth Formers throughout our 25 Trust schools and get involved in partnerships such as our Maths Partnership with Murray Edwards College, Cambridge.
Teaching built around girls
Innovative teaching backed by GDST’s latest research into what works when educating girls – our GDST Insights Report titled Designing the Future of Girls’ Education shows that GDST is a global voice on the design and delivery of world class girls’ education. This latest report forms part of our latest series of innovative research supporting the specific needs of girls, in all learning environments. Be at the cutting edge of educational provision with access to our ConnectEd programme of learning which adapts university style teaching methods for the post 16 context.
Online talks for parents and carers from nationwide experts in supporting and guiding young women from a parental point of view.
For staff
For staff, there is a huge CPD programme offered both face to face and online covering a wide range of areas of school life including bespoke leadership courses and the opportunity to network with colleagues across the trust.
There is also a free and confidential Employee Assist Programme and a wide range of employee benefits.
