Preparation for the Future

About Us

It is incredibly important at Belvedere that our students leave us prepared for a successful and fulfilling life as a member of society.

We hope that our students become change makers for good and that their impact on their local, national and global communities is significant.

However, primarily we want them to be happy and confident in their professional and personal lives.

We use our “Being Belvedere” framework to guide our students, giving opportunities to explore what it means to be: kind and compassionate; to appreciate differences within others’ lived experiences; to be supportive of others and their own physical and mental health; to be creative and inquisitive and to work hard and to keep going when things get difficult or when they fail. All of this leaves them being resourceful and subsequently empowered and able to celebrate successes, large and small.

These themes run through everything at Belvedere, but we also recognise that students need to be taught how to develop these qualities, and so we take time in lessons, form time and in enrichment to explicitly explore and teach around these characteristics.

Throughout their time at Belvedere, students will also benefit from exceptional guidance in careers. They will enjoy numerous encounters with employers and all academy trips will have an aspect of careers development woven into it. They will enjoy two substantial opportunities to engage in work experience and benefit from workshops and active learning throughout all Key Stages.

We pride ourselves on providing a number of pathways both to university and to various apprenticeships as well as enabling pupils to access mentoring.

Being part of GDST, means that our students can access a huge number of alumnae so many of whom are keen to give back to students at GDST schools and help guide them into a range of careers.

Our PSHE programme in years 7 to 11, and Be Life Ready programme in Sixth Form gives our students everything they need to be safe, happy and resourceful. We constantly update content in response to local, national and global themes and needs and also in line with pupil voice.
