Senior Student Leadership

Years 12-13

At Belvedere Sixth Form, we are passionate about equipping our students with strong leadership skills and providing meaningful experiences to build upon them throughout their time with us. We believe our students are the changemakers of the future. Our goal is to ensure they feel empowered during their time at Belvedere to drive positive change in an ever-changing world.

Our Senior Student Leadership Team (SSLT) plays a vital role in building a positive, powerful community while acting as inspiring role models for our younger students.

Every member of the SSLT holds a dedicated, impactful role tailored to their strengths and the needs of our school community.

  • As principal, my ambition is to allow each pupil across all year groups to feel not just accepted at Belvedere but seen and celebrated. I love being part of a school community in which individuality is encouraged and my aim is to ensure the wide variety of interests and talents present at Belvedere don’t go under the radar. Whether it be through making sure all pupils are offered platforms from which to speak out about their passions or providing a wider range of enrichments to allow pupils to find their own communities, everyone deserves to feel valued and recognised. As principal, I will prioritise ensuring each and every pupil can see themselves in Belvedere.

  • As principal, my ambitions and aims are to promote collaboration across the different year groups to ensure a stronger sense of community and belonging at Belvedere, as I believe that both are integral aspects of student life and overall well-being. I further aim to do so by creating more opportunities that will include cross collaboration with each year group allowing students to express themselves and embrace their varying experiences and voices which I believe will greatly impact the growth of Belvedere. I further aim to strengthen existing systems in Belvedere, such as the peer mentoring system and the equality and diversity team to ensure kind and empowering spaces where everyone is encouraged to participate and work together, towards a Belvedere

  • My main goal in this role is to ensure that all new Year 7 pupils feel welcomed, comfortable, and truly part of the Belvedere community from the very beginning. I’m especially excited to help make the induction days as fun, engaging, and memorable as possible, so that starting secondary school feels less daunting and more exciting. I understand that moving into Year 7 can be overwhelming – particularly when it comes to making new friends and adjusting to a new environment – but as your senior prefect, I will be there to support you, help you build friendships, and guide you through any challenges you might face.

  • As Senior Prefect for Years 7–8, I aim to organise sporting events—not only to encourage girls to be more physically active, but also to help them make new friends, foster teamwork, and promote healthy habits at a time when many girls drop out of sport. Amongst the wider school community, I aim to decrease litter levels and make the school more environmentally friendly by increasing the use of recycling bins in the canteen, common room and outdoor areas.

  • Within my role as senior prefect to year 9, and as that year group goes into year 10, I’m aiming to form real relationships between myself, the other prefects, and the members of that year group. I want to bridge the gap between older and younger years and ensure that every child feels seen and listened to by their prefects. I hope that the SSLT team is an approachable group of people that any student feels as though they can talk to and give feedback to so that the future of Belvedere reflects what the students truly want and need. This personal relationship is what I believe is really at the heart of the community at Belvedere and a sense of belonging for all pupils.
