Step up to Sixth Form

Years 7-11

At Belvedere, we want our students to be ambitious.

Be ambitious

We know that dreaming big about the future has a massive impact on achieving life goals – whether that means taking the next steps in education, securing a dream career, or, most importantly, making a positive impact on the world.

To turn these dreams into reality, our Sixth Form Team, Careers Team, and Senior Student Leadership Team work collaboratively with students from the moment they enter Key Stage 3 (KS3) and carry that support all the way through to graduation.

The Belvedere Journey: Support at Every Stage

We believe that ambition needs to be nurtured early. Our structured pathway ensures that students are supported, challenged, and inspired at every milestone of their academic journey.

Key Stage 3: Sparking Ambition
The journey begins early. Through a broad range of inspiring assemblies and unique opportunities, we encourage our younger students to look to the future, explore their potential, and start dreaming big.

Key Stage 4 (GCSE Years): Finding Focus
As students move into their GCSE years, our support steps up significantly to help them navigate their options:

Year 10-11 and beyond

Year 10 (1:1 Mentoring): Every student receives tailored, one-to-one mentoring. This ensures they develop a deep understanding of their personal strengths and passions, alongside a solid grasp of the most suitable next steps for their educational journey.

Year 11 (Step Up to Sixth Form): To bridge the gap between GCSEs and Post-16 study, students participate in our bespoke Step Up to Sixth Form programme. This initiative is explicitly designed to ensure students hit the ground running the moment they begin their Sixth Form studies with us.

Sixth Form: Thriving and Succeeding

The support doesn’t stop once students arrive at Sixth Form. We provide dedicated study skills workshops and continuous 1:1 guidance to ensure our senior students don’t just get by, but thrive academically, personally and socially.
